Information for Students Attending Actuarial Career Fair

The Actuarial Association of UCSB and the Department of Statistics and Applied Probability are proud to present the 6th Annual Actuarial Career fair to be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017.

Major insurance companies and consulting firms will be represented. Students will have the opportunity to speak with practicing actuaries, obtain literature, and submit resumes for summer internships and full-time positions.

Dress Code: Business formal

We recommend business attire, which means suit and tie for men and comparable attire for women. Additionally, a notebook may be good to bring with you for taking notes.

Registration for the Exclusive Actuarial Club Hour

Active paid members of UCSB Actuarial Association are invited to participate in the Exclusive Actuarial Association Hour. To register, please complete an Actuarial Association Member Registration form by Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. Registered participants are invited to submit resumes in advance for inclusion in the resume booklet sent to employers. Resumes must be submitted by Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 4:00 p.m.

Registration for the general session for Meet the Companies

1:30pm- 2:30pm Session "Meet the Companies" is free and open to all majors wishing to attend. To register, please complete an All Majors Registration form.

Please bring copies of your resume to distribute. Your resume must be limited to one page only, in PDF format. (Please see samples here)

For this fair, business attire is required and you are expected to study the List of Participating Employers prior to the event. Researching potential employers demonstrates your preparedness for a job.

To join Actuarial Association of UCSB go to Actuarial Association of UCSB. Payment of the Association annual membership dues is required to be eligible for participation in the Exclusive Actuarial Association Hour.
